Leicester City forward Abdul Fatawu has completed a medical ahead of a move to Ipswich Town, according to the East Anglian Daily Times, which also reports a £20m fee plus up to £3m in add-ons.
The transfer is understood to have accelerated late last week as talks progressed following a verbal agreement between the clubs.
Leicester paid £14.4m to sign the Ghana international in summer 2024 after an initial loan in 2023/24 that cost around £638,000.
If completed, the sale would represent a record outgoing for a League One player and would be a strong return for City.
Fatawu would follow Harry Winks, Jeremy Monga, Victor Kristiansen and Jannik Vestergaard, whose contract was mutually terminated, in leaving the King Power Stadium.
The move is not yet final, but Fatawu is expected to bid farewell to Leicester and sign for Ipswich.
Ipswich are also working on an £8.5m verbal agreement with Fulham for Issa Diop.
Leicester have made two signings so far, with Conor Chaplin and Alex McCarthy arriving on free transfers, and Russell Martin's squad requires further additions before the season starts.
