Abel Ferreira fired up the Palmeiras dressing room before the second game of the Campeonato Paulista final, which they won 2-1 against Novorizontino on Sunday in Novo Horizonte.

According to Globo.com, a club video showed the Portuguese urging his players to adapt to the circumstances of the match.

He underlined that the higher the objective, the greater the effort required, framing his message against a recent trophy drought at the club. He called for calm breathing, focus on tasks, face-to-face competition and constant communication, asking the team to leave everything on the pitch and enjoy the occasion.

The coach was named Campeonato Paulista’s best manager. The victory delivered Abel Ferreira’s fourth state crown, after 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Palmeiras face Vasco on Thursday in the fifth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, with kick-off at 19:30 Brasília time at São Januário.
