AC Milan await bids as Fenerbahce plan Milan blitz for Rafael Leao | OneFootball

AC Milan face a stalemate over Rafael Leao’s future, with Fenerbahce stepping up their interest on a lucrative proposal. According to Goal.com, the Portuguese forward is not currently opening the door.

Gerry Cardinale is working to unblock Milan’s market after spending around €100 million on Gonçalo Ramos and Mario Gila, and Leao’s situation is the thorniest task.

Leao is finishing his holiday after Portugal’s World Cup exit, having stated in May that he wants a new challenge after seven years at Milan. The club are also open to a parting of ways for technical, tactical, economic and motivational reasons, with Leao their highest earner on about €7 million including bonuses.

He prefers Spain or, above all, England. Talk of Aston Villa and Tottenham has not advanced, and the only concrete interest so far has come from Türkiye’s heavyweights, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, which currently does not appeal despite double-digit salary offers.

Milan want €60 million for a permanent sale. Using the financial year to 30 June 2025, Leao’s book value is €16.8 million, and the Rossoneri aim for a significant capital gain to fund a left-footed attacking midfielder. If the impasse continues, a costly loan with a conditional obligation to buy could be explored.

Leao will miss the first official friendly against Celtic Glasgow on Saturday 25, and is due in Australia with Gonçalo Ramos on 29 July. A Fenerbahce delegation have planned a blitz in Milan to meet his lawyer and present a €10 million per season offer. The İstanbul club have already spent more than €60 million on Nathan Aké, Vedat Muriqi and Mason Greenwood, and are now also considering Leao.
