Liverpool are facing a shakeup of their central defensive options over the next few transfer windows.

There is a big contract issue to solve with Ibrahima Konate first of all. The French international is now entitled to speak to potentially interested overseas clubs about a free transfer next summer with his contract expiring in summer 2026.

If no deal can be agreed with sporting director Richard Hughes then the 26-year-old will be leaving at the end of the season.

Liverpool have listened to offers for the England international in recent windows but the club’s longest-serving player has lasted the course thus far.

The report goes on to mention that Milan’s decision-makers are looking into a deal for Morato - Nottingham Forest’s 24-year-old stopper.
