According to a report from L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi, AC Milan midfielder Ismaël Bennacer (27) wants to join Olympique de Marseille. The two teams have yet to find an agreement, but the Algerian international has made it known that he would like to join the French side.
RMC Sport earlier reported that Marseille had sent a loan offer with an option to purchase the player for €10 million. He has been a target for Les Phocéens since the summer, however, a deal never came to fruition. The Algeria international at the time was also sold on the move.
Bennacer has missed much of the season with a calf injury suffered right at the start of the campaign. As a result, he has made just eight appearances in all competitions, including just six in Serie A.
Now, in the dying hours of the window, Marseille have reignited their interest in Bennacer. Les Phocéens, who have been active in the market this past month, would be interested in bringing in the midfielder on loan.
This comes amid reports that Ismaël Koné (22) is set to join Ligue 1 rivals Stade Rennais, also on loan.
