However, this second proposal did not satisfy the Percassi family, owners of Atalanta. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the club's official response reached Inter's offices on Friday, August 1, via a terse email. The Bergamo board simply thanked their Milanese counterparts for their interest while politely declining the offer. This firm stance underlines Atalanta's determination to keep their star player or secure a significantly higher fee.
