Ademola Lookman stays at Atalanta: Now what happens next? | OneFootball

The story around Ademola Lookman future has been fraught with chaos over the last two months.

The forward asked to leave Atalanta and sought a move to Inter, who made several attempts to land him. But La Dea pegged back every approach, sticking to their asking price and this ended up forcing Inter into pursuing others targets. The player was then offered to English clubs and late on Sunday, Bayern Munich came calling with an offer that fell short of Atalanta’s demands.

Interest from Turkey did linger but the player didn’t want to entertain those offers and now, despite his desperate attempts, he has stayed at Atalanta.

Calciomercato believe that there are three possibilities regarding his future. The first one would be that he stays at Bergamo at least till January. La Dea anyway still need a player for the left flank and Lookman needs to play football regularly to feature at the AFCON. He will be able to retain his value in the market, through this.

The second option relates to him accepting a move to Turkey or Saudi Arabia, where the transfer window is still open. After all, Atalanta fans have bitter feelings towards the attacker and wouldn’t like the idea of him playing for them again.

The third and the most complex scenario relates to Lookman being exterminated from La Dea’s squad – as he has been for weeks. This would render him useless and his value would decline considerably.

There are risks with every scenario and the next few days will decide everything.
