Gianni Infantino on Monday unveiled Adidas's new World Cup match ball, the Trionda final. It will be used for the two semi-finals, the third-place play-off and the final.

The design drops the red, blue and green that referenced hosts Canada, United States and Mexico, switching to black and gold motifs with large white divides in a nod to the World Cup Trophy. FIFA said the wavy pattern is inspired by the long and difficult journey teams undertake and is intended to underline the importance of the last four matches.

The model builds on the ball used since the start of the tournament. The change is chiefly a design refresh with clear marketing intent.

The Trionda final will debut in the semi-finals on 14 and 15 July, with both kick-offs at 21:00 in France.

It will also be used for the third-place match on Saturday 18 July at 23:00, and for the final on 19 July at 21:00 in France.

France will aim to reach those semi-finals at Morocco's expense on Thursday at 22:00 in France.
