AFC Bournemouth have lodged their full application to expand Dean Court, with a travel plan to cut car use around Vitality Stadium.
According to Bournemouth Echo, transport and parking have dominated talks, with enabling works approved last week and councillors citing matchday congestion. The club is seeking to lift capacity from 11,329 to more than 20,000.
The plan promotes walking and cycling, greater use of buses and trains, and fewer single-occupancy trips through car sharing. A communications push and better signage are proposed.
Car parks would become pre-booking only, with access to the west car park from King’s Park Drive and to the south from Gloucester Road.
A transport working group would bring together the club, BCP Council, the Safety Advisory Group, police and transport operators.
Surveys found 75 per cent of season-ticket holders travel by car, with 3 per cent by bus, 3 per cent by train and 13 per cent on foot.
The plan aims to maintain or reduce private car trips by promoting public transport and active travel, with targets reviewed with BCP. One club contact would oversee delivery, surveys and liaison.
