After José Melro, Rui Costa sees another prospect depart Benfica

Benfica have confirmed the permanent transfer of 21-year-old winger Ivan Lima to Poland's GKS Piast Gliwice, the club said in a statement. It is the second departure following José Melro.

The Seixal product had previously been used by José Mourinho.

Lima spent 15 seasons with the club, joining in 2011/12 at under-seven level and progressing through every age group to the B team.

This season he made his first-team debut in the Taça de Portugal against GD Chaves, and also featured in the Liga Betclic at Estádio da Luz versus Arouca.

Across the past two campaigns with Benfica B, he totalled 34 appearances. The club wished him success as he begins a new chapter in his career.
