Tottenham are preparing a new bid for Souza after Santos rejected an initial offer worth 10 million euros, with the club currently unwilling to advance a sale.
According to Diario Do Peixe, the English club intend to increase their proposal to try to unblock talks, and Santos have also turned down offers from Chelsea and Milan at similar levels.
The board believe the bids tabled so far do not reflect his potential, and that, with a sustained run over the season, Souza could reach higher fees in the international market.
Among the interested clubs, Santos prioritised talks with Chelsea because of a recent record of upfront payments, but a 7 million euros offer was deemed low and dismissed.
The player’s camp view the market movement positively and believe a European move could be beneficial, especially given 2025, when he spent much of the year as a reserve and only gained more opportunities late on.
Souza is under contract until the end of 2028 and remains part of the squad while the club wait to see whether Tottenham return with figures closer to their valuation.
