Angelo Stiller is said to rank highly on Manchester United’s midfield shortlist, with both Christopher Vivell and Jason Wilcox deemed admirers of the player.

The former played an integral role in Benjamin Sesko signing for the Red Devils in August, even amidst reports that Ruben Amorim would’ve preferred a more proven and experienced option in the form of Ollie Watkins.

However, ex-Red Bull chief Vivell was adamant about bringing the 22-year-old star to Old Trafford, having worked closely with him at both RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig.

Sesko eventually signed in a £73.7 million deal to replace the struggling Rasmus Hojlund up front, and he has since returned two Premier League goals and an assist in his first 11 appearances.

Now, Vivell has set his sights on another young Bundesliga target in the form of Stiller, as per Ben Jacobs and talkSPORT.

The 24-year-old, labelled a ‘no-nonsense No.6’, has been on United’s radar for a few months now, but particularly since they failed to sanction a midfielder’s arrival in the summer.

Sky Sports previously claimed Stiller would be ‘very open’ to a move away from VfB Stuttgart at the end of the season, with the German outfit currently valuing him in the region of £44 million.

This would make him a considerably cheaper option than some of the other names United have been linked with, such as Carlos Baleba and Elliot Anderson, both of whom are valued above £100m.

That being said, Stiller does not boast any Premier League experience like the pair do, meaning it might take him more time to transition and get to grips with the English top flight – just look at how quickly Bryan Mbeumo, who signed from Brentford, has fared in comparison to Sesko.
