Chelsea youngster Frankie Runham is set to join Championship side Ipswich on loan with a potential obligation to buy according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues have already sanctioned two departures this month, with Facundo Buonanotte returning to Brighton and subsequently going on loan to Leeds, whilst Leo Castledine joined Middlesbrough.
Chelsea are still hopeful of finding solutions for Axel Disasi and Raheem Sterling, whilst they also recalled David Datro Fofana from his loan in Turkey.
With two exits already confirmed, it appears a third player is now set to leave in Runham, who’s registered 23 goal contributions across 60 appearances for Chelsea’s youth sides.
However, it’s clear the 19-year-old right winger doesn’t have a path to the first team, and Romano has provided an update on his future.

He took to X.com and said:
“EXCL: Ipswich Town agree deal with Chelsea to sign Frankie Runham on loan with potential obligation to buy.
“#CFC retain a buy back clause if the move becomes permanent for their Academy product.
“Runham viewed as part of #ITFC project to bring in exciting talents.”
Ipswich are currently second in the Championship after suffering relegation last season, and Runham will be expected to contribute to their promotion push.
Whilst Chelsea have sorted out Runham’s future, the Blues are still deciding what to do with Kendry Paez, who’s currently on loan at Strasbourg.

Paez has struggled to make an impact in France, and Chelsea are considering whether to recall him and send him on loan elsewhere.
The teenager was billed as a huge talent in South America, but so far he’s struggled to adapt to European football, and it will be interesting to see what decision Chelsea decide to make, with Bournemouth reportedly a potential destination.
