Ajinomoto do Brasil introduced the new lineup of the Ajinomoto Team on Wednesday at an event held in Ibirapuera Park, in São Paulo. The group of athletes receives nutritional support from the company. The meeting also marked the renewal of its sponsorship of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) through the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
Held at Restaurante Selvagem, the event brought together athletes, executives, and sports industry professionals and made official the incorporation of the Projeto Vitória into the company’s Social Responsibility area.
The initiative, which provides nutritional support to athletes, will now operate in an integrated way with the educational program “Nutrition to Win”, with a focus on expanding the reach of its actions beyond high-performance sports.
Ajinomoto do Brasil president Naoko Yamamoto said the goal is to extend the benefits of nutritional knowledge to the general public.
“We believe that the same nutritional technology that helps a champion push beyond their limits can also help people lead a more balanced daily life,” she said.
The presentation of the new team was hosted by journalist Fernando Gavini. In this cycle, the Ajinomoto Team will include Adriana Silva, a two-time Pan American marathon champion, and Rafael Silva, known as Baby, an Olympic medal-winning judoka, as mentors for the group.
The roster includes Alana Maldonado (judo), Arthur Nory (artistic gymnastics), Bruna and Giulia Takahashi (table tennis), Gustavo Carneiro (wheelchair tennis), Petrúcio Ferreira (athletics), and Thiago Paulino (shot put and discus throw). Three new names were also announced: Aline Ferreira (table tennis), Eduarda Bastos (judo), and Mariana D’Andrea (weightlifting).
During the event, Ajinomoto’s Director of Communications, Marketing and Innovation, Adriana Moucherek, confirmed the continuation of support for Brazilian Paralympic sport throughout the next Olympic cycle.
“We remain together with the CPB in this Los Angeles 2028 cycle, ensuring nutritional support and the structure needed for the athletes to continue performing at a high level,” Adriana said.
The president of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee, José Antônio Freire, highlighted the importance of maintaining the partnership, which began in 2019. “Paralympic sport is a powerful tool for social transformation. Having a company of Ajinomoto’s size reinforces the credibility of the work we carry out every day,” he said.
