Brest overpowered OM 2-0 on Friday, with Ludovic Ajorque bossing the Marseille back line and Benjamin Pavard repeatedly exposed.
According to L'Équipe, Ajorque won 16 of 25 duels across the night and collected another caution, taking his tally to eight plus a red.
The striker struck twice with his head in the first half. He beat Nayef Aguerd to open the scoring on 10 minutes, then timed his run to nod a second on 29. Both deliveries came from Hugo Magnetti, first with his left foot then his right.
Magnetti misplaced only one pass, won all six of his duels and made four interceptions. Junior Diaz, starting a third straight match while on loan from Troyes, was solid with four wins from five and four interceptions.
Pavard was slow to react for the opener and lost out again for the second, and was troubled in the air and in behind. Beside him, Aguerd was also beaten for both, though steadier after the break. Captain Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg recovered eight balls, was booked on 67 and replaced by Nadir on 87.
Grégoire Coudert preserved the clean sheet despite a mixed display. He conceded a needless corner on 39 and made unorthodox stops from Paixao and Timber on 58 and 59, then saved Mason Greenwood’s penalty on 82 before tipping away a Traoré header at 90+2.
