Al-Hilal interested in signing Karim Benzema as he looks to leave Al-Ittihad | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Al Hilal are interested in signing Karim Benzema (38) before the end of the winter transfer window. The French international forward is unhappy with his current situation at Al-Ittihad and could welcome the opportunity for a transfer. 

Benzema refused to play in Al-Ittihad’s match at the weekend against Al Fateh. The former Real Madrid forward took offence to a new contract offer from the Saudi Pro League club where he wouldn’t have been paid a salary, but would have had full control over his image rights. Unsurprisingly, this offer was quickly rejected. 

Benzema to have meeting with Al-Ittihad

Foot Mercato understands that the Ballon d’Or winner is set to have a meeting with his current club to try and find a solution to the current situation. Nevertheless, with clubs showing an interest in his services and the Lyon academy graduate open to the move, he could be looking to leave.
