Al-Hilal have opened the door for Darwin Nunez to leave on loan after August began without an acceptable permanent bid. They want a club that will cover most of his salary.
Saudi outlets report that the striker's camp and the club tested several exit routes in recent weeks, none of which came off.
Sport reports that club officials are due in Türkiye this week to open talks with a leading side. Interest also remains from the Premier League and Portugal.
Barcelona have been sounded out over Nunez, though nothing concrete has emerged. The Catalans are still in contact with Al-Hilal regarding Joao Cancelo.
Nunez trained with the squad in Austria but is not part of the plans. The same applies to Karim Benzema, whom the hierarchy would prefer to move on, even as he insists on staying in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Hilal favour a European loan to rebuild Nunez's level and market value, with a sale targeted next year. They signed him from Liverpool for 55 million euros, after the Reds had paid 85 million euros to Benfica.
