Aladji Bamba completes €41.5m move from Monaco to Newcastle | OneFootball

Aladji Bamba has completed a €41.5m move from Monaco to Newcastle, with €6m in bonuses, signing a five-year contract with a one-year option.

According to L'Équipe, Monaco and Newcastle also agreed a 15% sell-on clause for the 20-year-old France under-20 midfielder.

Talks accelerated over the past three weeks. Bamba had looked set for a second senior season at his formative club before an approach that was hard to refuse.

He has made 25 competitive appearances for the Principality side and was attracted by the project outlined by Eddie Howe.

The fee makes him Monaco’s third most lucrative academy sale, behind Kylian Mbappé to PSG for €180m in 2017 and Benoît Badiashile to Chelsea for €38m, excluding bonuses, in January 2023.
