Former Premier League striker Alan Shearer has questioned whether Joao Pedro is good enough to take Chelsea to the next level.
Shearer has been one of the best strikers to ever grace football and easily top five Premier League strikers of all time in my view. So when he talks about strikers, I think he has a very warranted and valued opinion.
Pedro has been in some very good form lately with Chelsea and he has been the go to first choice striker under Liam Rosenior, keeping Liam Delap out of the starting Xl mostly.
He’s been good in front of goal as well, getting some very important goals for Chelsea including one at the weekend again against Burnley.
The Blues wasted the goal lead though to only end up drawing 1-1 against a relegation battling team.
Pedro Neto whipped a low cross in for the in form Joao Pedro, who bundled the ball in. The crowd were roaring, and everyone expected a comfortable win with some nice football along the way. But it didn’t work out that way.

Shearer is now questioning whether Pedro is good enough to lead the line at Chelsea.
‘I think Joao Pedro is a really, really talented player,’ Shearer said on The Rest is Football podcast.
‘Whether he’s enough to take Chelsea to the next level and to where they want to be in terms of titles and the champions League is a different conversation.
‘But in terms of his ability, he’s excellent.’
I don’t disagree with this analysis to be honest. I think Pedro is class, but I’m also questioning whether he is good enough as a 9 to lead the line at Chelsea and take us to the next level challenging on all fronts.
