Albert Riera favourite ‘to become’ Eintracht Frankfurt coach | OneFootball

Albert Riera is the frontrunner for Eintracht Frankfurt, with Sky Germany and BILD reporting the NK Celje coach could take over following the dismissal of Dino Toppmöller.

Final talks are taking place between Frankfurt and Celje, though the Slovenian club are reluctant to let their successful coach go. Frankfurt are confident of finding a solution and a fee would be due for the 43-year-old.

"We are on the home stretch of reaching an agreement," said board spokesman Axel Hellmann at Eintracht's meeting on Monday.

Links to other candidates, including former RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose, have gone quiet. Frankfurt are eighth in the table, so their push to return to Europe is under threat.

Later on Monday, Sky Germany reported the talks with Riera now centre solely on the transfer fee. It added that personal terms are not an issue and that Riera remains extremely professional while he waits for an agreement.
