Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes make list of 100 best players in world this past year | OneFootball

Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak have both been included in these rankings of the best 100 outfield players in the world, for matches played this past year.

This is for matches played since 22 September 2024.

The report has been compiled by the CIES Football Observatory and they used their own methodology

This was a purely statistical model and took into account ‘the performances of outfield footballers during the last year in six game areas, as well their employment, matches’ sporting level and results.

The report was published yesterday (Monday 22 September 2025) and was timed to come out just in advance of the Ballon d’Or being awarded, this is where journalists vote on best player of the year across the world.

The 2025 Ballon d’Or ended up being awarded to Ousmane Dembele, though he only ranked seventh in this report on the 100 top performing outfield players of the past year.

Here below are the rankings from the CIES Football Observatory top 100 outfield players report for the past year, first image showing who was ranked one to ten in the report, then those ranked 91 to 100.

As you can see, Bruno Guimaraes ranked 96th in the top 100 list, with Alexander Isak 99th.
