Inter Miami have signed academy graduate Alexander Shaw as a Homegrown player on a contract running to the end of the 2026 MLS season, with options to June 2027 and for 2027-28 and 2028-29, the club said in a statement. The 17-year-old becomes the 11th academy product to reach the first team.

Shaw made his MLS debut on 14 March, coming on as a second-half substitute in the draw away to Charlotte FC while on a short-term loan from MLS NEXT Pro side Inter Miami II.

Before that he made his first-team bow in the opening match of the 2026 Champions Tour against Alianza Lima. He then featured throughout pre-season, appearing as a substitute against Barcelona SC and starting against Independiente del Valle in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.

He initially impressed in the academy before making his professional debut for Inter Miami II last July. In his first campaign at that level he recorded 13 appearances and two assists.

Shaw follows Daniel Pinter, Israel Boatwright, Tyler Hall, Santiago Morales, David Ruiz, Benjamin Cremaschi, Noah Allen, Ian Fray, Edison Azcona and Felipe Valencia in completing the pathway from academy to first team.
