Aliou Dieng rejects Al Ahly's offer and wants $1.8m What are the details!
Exclusive Africafoot sources reveal Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng has rejected Al Ahly's contract extension offer following tense negotiations with sporting director Mohamed Youssef.
The 27-year-old, freshly returned from his Saudi Pro League stint, turned down an $800,000 annual deal (€689,584 / 448M FCFA), demanding $1.8M (€1.55M / 1B FCFA) instead. Dieng reportedly holds two concrete offers from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, escalating pressure on the Egyptian giants.
Despite limited minutes in Al Ahly's preseason, Dieng proved his worth with a commanding friendly performance against Porto. His dynamic displays have only magnified questions about his initial exclusion - and his irreplaceable midfield role.
While Al Ahly recently blocked a $4M bid from Saudi's Al Kholood (including bonuses), the club now faces an impossible dilemma: meet their star's salary demands or risk losing him to Gulf rivals. As the transfer window heats up, Dieng's future hangs in the balance.
