The Brazilian, 33, has been with the Reds since 2018 - winning all there is to win in the club game.
These days he is showing signs of slowing down - missing far too many games through injury - but that didn’t stop Richard Hughes from tying the goalkeeper down until 2027.
The move came amid intense speculation that Alisson was on Juventus’ list of potential summer signings.
And while Liverpool’s contract extension for their No1 may well have appeared as a sign of faith in his long-term form and fitness that might not necessarily be the case.
La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Liverpool made the contract decision only to guarantee a transfer return on their £150k per week goalkeeper this summer.
And now Juventus have reportedly had positive signals from Alisson - who has opened the door to a three-year deal with the Serie A giants.
According to Gazzetta Alisson has said “yes” to Luciano Spalletti - the coach who worked with Alisson at Roma prior to his world-record transfer to Liverpool.
“Contacts with the Brazilian goalkeeper's entourage, currently sidelined with a muscle injury, have been positive,” the report reads.
“Alisson has opened the door to a move to Juventus, and optimism within the Bianconeri circles is reportedly growing. This is an important first move, while obviously not yet enough to reach the goal, but it's essential and not a given.”
Liverpool signed Giorgi Mamardashvili back in 2024 - opting to keep the Georgian on loan at Valencia for the 2024/25 season. He is currently back-up to Alisson with the £24m signing seemingly frustrated at being second-choice.
But the report also claims that the 25-year-old is set to step in as first-choice for the Anfield club next season -prompting Alisson to seek out a deal back in Italy.
“Liverpool have used the option in his contract to extend his deal by twelve months, expiring in 2027,” the report reads.
“This move is intended to avoid losing the player for free, not to secure him.
“At Anfield, they've invested around thirty million in recent months for Giorgi Mamardashvili, the Brazilian's designated successor, and after this season's run-in, the plan is to promote the 25-year-old Georgian.
“These are the reasons that are pushing Alisson to explore a new Italian adventure and Liverpool to consider parting ways with the star player. A three-year contract is being considered for the former Roma player, obviously at a lower rate than his English counterpart.”
