AI has ranked how measured each of the Championship club's fanbases currently act
The Championship is home to some of English football's most historic clubs and loyal fanbases.
However, that does not always align with how responsible sections of those fanbases can be, with each of the second tier's 24 clubs guaranteed to be in the headlines at some point in the season due to incidents which have boiled over on the terraces.
Granted, there are a handful of clubs who carry this particular burden with them way more than others, particularly ahead of specific away fixtures when police and safety advisory groups will take extra measures, such as altering kick-off times, to ensure each and every spectator feels as if they are in a safe environment before, during and after the 90 plus minutes of action.
With that being said, Football League World were rather intrigued to see whether the aforementioned consensus is still apparent or not. As such, we enlisted the help of AI-based chatbot, ChatGPT, to rank the Championship's respective fanbases from worst to best in terms of how sensible they act as a collective on matchday, and here are those findings.

It may come as little surprise to some that Millwall reside at the bottom of this particular AI ranking.
AI has praised Lions supporters for the loyalty they have shown the club during a mixed, yet lengthy history. But, on the flipside, it has found it hard to not reference the South London side's past associations with hooliganism, particularly in fierce encounters against West Ham United.

Leicester City's fanbase sit 23rd, according to AI.
However, the reason behind this particular selection has very little to do with any extreme behaviours at the King Power Stadium. Instead, it has sensed an entitlement from Foxes supporters which hadn't previously existed.
As such, it is no real surprise that the locals expect better from a club which won the Premier League less than a decade ago and were regulars in European competition as recently as 2022, with financial problems currently hanging over the East Midlands side.

Stoke City supporters have also endured their fair share of suffering since being relegated from the Premier League in 2017/18.
Whilst the Bet365 Stadium has often been cited as an intimidating stadium for opposition to play at, especially in bleak conditions, AI has also criticised Potters fans for their actions on social media, sensing an entitlement that the Staffordshire side should be challenging for promotion regularly when taking the club's stature and recent history into account.

Portsmouth's supporters often receive plenty of plaudits for the loyalty showcased to the club amid recent dire financial problems.
However, now they find themselves back in the Championship, AI believes that Pompey fans can be extremely reactionary, which can lead to emotions spilling over in several ways.

Wrexham supporters have been on an emotional rollercoaster under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, resulting in the record-breaking feat of three successive promotions from non-league to the second tier.
The identity of the ownership duo has only increased the global recognition which the Red Dragons receive, and this has helped significantly when it comes to revenue.
However, AI sees this as a negative, with some supporters from across the Atlantic taking a naive approach when assessing the club's immediate chances of making their mark in the Championship.

Much like some of the aforementioned clubs, AI believes Swansea City supporters must temper their expectations and how they react to developments.
The Swans enjoyed a strong spell of success in the 2010s, which included an EFL Cup success and UEFA Europa League football. However, they have since failed to return to such heights, leading to mass frustration often pointed at managers or those in the boardroom.

AI has heaped praise on the backing in terms of figures and volume which Sheffield Wednesday receive, but has criticised supporters for some of the ways in which they voiced their discontent towards former owner, Dejphon Chansiri.
A series of differing protests were held in S6 before the Thai businessman was removed from his post. However, once a takeover is finalised, Wednesdayites can fully focus on backing their team as they hope for a brighter future after a chaotic 10-year period.

Controversially, AI believes Sheffield United supporters are slightly more sensible in the Steel City.
The algorithm has, once again, praised those at Bramall Lane for their constant and loyal backing down the years, but believes that some sections of the support must be aware of their knee-jerk reactions, which often take place after a damaging defeat, or in the case of 2025, several boardroom decisions.

Birmingham City supporters have often divided opinion, with the club doing everything they can to eradicate the hooliganism which was previously attached with the Second City club.
After years of disillusionment, sell-outs are once again the norm at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park, with AI noting such developments, but once again, Bluenoses have been criticised for the emotions which can spill over on occasions after a stand-alone match or development.

An interesting fanbase to often gauge feelings from is Watford's.
As such, AI believes that the constant revolving door of managers and players has led to a restless nature amongst those at Vicarage Road towards the Pozzo family, which has become normal ever since they bought the club in 2012.
