Former Australia international Vidosic joined Brighton ahead of the 2024/25 campaign and has transformed the Seagulls into a firmly established top six side.
He guided the club to their best-ever WSL finish last season and, while they’re unlikely to beat Tottenham Hotspur in the race for fifth this year, Brighton are still on course for a second successive top half finish.
Known for their free-flowing, high energy style, Vidosic’s side are also looking forward to an FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool next month.
Second half goals from Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Yui Hasegawa saw City come from behind to beat Brighton 2-1 in our first home match of the WSL season.
The visitors had taken an early lead through Fran Kirby, but the Blues levelled just before the hour through a Shaw diving header.
Hasegawa then completed the turnaround with just over 15 to play after being threaded through by Aoba Fujino.
Both sides were involved in the FA Cup quarter-finals before the international break, with City beating Birmingham 1-0 at St Andrew’s.
Shaw’s first half strike proved the difference, though the Blues also struck the post on three separate occasions through the Jamaican, Hasegawa and Rebecca Knaak.
Brighton, meanwhile, booked their spot in the semis with a 2-0 win at Arsenal.
The match is available to watch live in the United Kingdom on Sky Sports Football.
