Canada have unveiled their 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with head coach Jesse Marsch declaring it the strongest group of players ever assembled by the nation ahead of the tournament on home soil.
The headline inclusion is captain Alphonso Davies, who has been selected despite ongoing concerns over his fitness. The Bayern Munich full-back is recovering from a hamstring injury sustained during a Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain and faces a battle to be ready for Canada's opening fixture.
Juventus striker Jonathan David is also among the standout names in the squad, alongside Porto captain Stephen Eustaquio, Villarreal winger Tajon Buchanan and Southampton forward Cyle Larin. Marsch has retained a strong core from the side that featured at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with 13 players returning for a second appearance on football's biggest stage.
Several squad members are set to experience the tournament for the first time, including goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau and defender Moïse Bombito. Veteran forward Junior Hoilett, however, has been left out of the final selection.
Canada will enter the competition with high expectations as co-hosts and will begin their campaign against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Group-stage matches against Qatar and Switzerland will follow as Marsch's side aim to progress beyond the opening round for the first time in their history.
