América name 27-man squad for Concacaf Champions Cup 2026 opener against Olimpia

Concacaf Champions Cup 2026 begins next week with Club América facing Olimpia of Honduras in the first round, the Mexican side naming a 27-man squad for the tie.
According to Americayya.net, América will look to end a 10-year wait for this trophy, last lifting it in 2016 after beating Tigres to complete back-to-back titles.
They share a side of the draw with Philadelphia Union and Inter Miami, the current MLS champions featuring Lionel Messi.
Olimpia are familiar opponents, with past tournament meetings producing wins for both sides. The first leg is set for Tuesday 3, the return on 11 February.

This edition will again be played as a straight knockout with five rounds, round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. All ties are two legs, the final is a single match hosted by the higher-seeded team.
