América ‘rejected’ Elche offer for Alexis Gutiérrez | OneFootball

According to Americayya.net, América have rejected an approach from Spanish league side Elche for Alexis Gutiérrez. The proposal was a one-year loan with an option to buy, and América are said to want only a permanent sale for significant money.

Gutiérrez’s arrival at América on 25 June 2025 drew controversy over the manner of the deal and its cost. He joined from Cruz Azul for what was said to be around five million dollars.

Under Martín Anselmi at Cruz Azul he impressed as a nailed-on starter. After the coach left, Gutiérrez slipped into a secondary role.

His spell at América has been modest, with a few bright outings, and he has often been among the last options off the bench.

The approach from Elche was driven by Anselmi, now in charge there, who wanted to take the midfielder with him. With América short of signings, Gutiérrez is in line to start the tournament under Guillermo Almada.
