Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim offered a reassuring update on the condition of his captain, Bruno Fernandes.
The Red Devils were in dire need of a victory following their shambolic display against Everton on Monday evening. And yet, they started on the wrong foot against Crystal Palace, with the home side dominating the action at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles scored the opener from the spot through Jean-Philippe Mateta, and they could have added more before the half-time whistle, but Luke Shaw pulled off a couple of timely blocks to keep his side in the game.
At one point, Bruno voiced his frustration at his teammate Amad Diallo, and was also displeased with a few other teammates, including Matthijs de Ligt.
After the break, Man Utd turned the result upside-down, first through Joshua Zirkzee and then Mason Mount. The common denominator between the two goals was Fernandes, who provided both assists with his clever free-kicks.

The Portuguese thus displayed his significance to the cause once more with another decisive performance.
However, United fans were given a late worry, as the skipper appeared to be holding his hamstring while in agony in the final stages of the contest.
Luckily for the Reds, Amorim was quick to dispel all injury fears, revealing that his compatriot was on the receiving end of a kick, but blamed him for keeping it for himself at a time when he still had available substitution slots.
“It was just the kick,” said the MUFC boss in his post-match interview via GB News.
“I was shouting at him because he needs to learn. We make a substitution in the end. He needs to talk to the bench, but he said it was, like, just a kick. So everything is okay.”

Whether Fernandes learned his lesson or not remains to be seen, but the most important thing is that the captain should be available to lead Man Utd against West Ham on Thursday.
