Benfica duo Anatoliy Trubin and Georgiy Sudakov have been called up by Ukraine for decisive World Cup 2026 play-offs.
According to Glorioso 1904, head coach Serhiy Rebrov has selected the pair, both regular starters, for the European path.
Ukraine must defeat two opponents to qualify. The first tie is on 26 March against Sweden, featuring Viktor Gyokeres. If they progress, the final on 31 March will be against the winner of Poland and Albania.
Rebrov has recently discussed Sudakov’s club usage, stressing the midfielder merits more minutes. He also said José Mourinho, who has not been using him, should play him in the B team to build rhythm and consistency.
Before reporting for international duty, Trubin and Sudakov will be in contention for Benfica’s home match against Vitória de Guimarães on Saturday, 21 March. The fixture is matchday 27 in Liga Portugal Betclic, and Benfica sit third on 62 points.
