Ancelotti in talks with Brazil

Despite having been frequently linked with Roma in recent months, Carlo Ancelotti appears to be closing in on a move to international duty.

The defeat against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final may have definitively ended Ancelotti’s cycle at Real Madrid.

Already after the elimination in the Champions League quarter-finals at the hands of Arsenal, the position of the Italian coach had weakened, and the defeat in the national cup has made his future now sealed.

According to Spanish sources and confirmed by Sky Sports News, contacts between Ancelotti and the Brazilian Federation are increasingly intense.

For weeks now, some emissaries, including businessman Diego Fernandes, have started a determined push to bring the coach to the Seleção bench.

Fernandes was photographed during the Copa del Rey final, further evidence of a negotiation now at an advanced stage. Despite a contract valid until June 30, 2026, it seems unlikely that Ancelotti will remain at the helm of the Blancos for the Club World Cup.

Instead, the coach could be available for Brazil’s first matches at the beginning of June.

The agreement, however, will not be made official before the end of La Liga, where Real Madrid is still in the running for the title, four points behind Barcelona with a Clasico to play.

The Brazilian Federation’s courtship of Ancelotti has been ongoing since 2022, when the Emilian coach’s name had already been linked to the Brazilian bench ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.

Now, after a season of light and shade and a new disappointment in the final, the paths between Ancelotti and Real seem destined to separate.
