Ander Herrera returns as Boca pick 25 to face Gimnasia de Chivilcoy, Cavani rested | OneFootball

Boca begin their 2026 Copa Argentina campaign at 21:15 on Tuesday in Salta against Gimnasia de Chivilcoy, with Ander Herrera back in the squad and Edinson Cavani sitting this one out.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, Claudio Úbeda has named a 25-man group for the tie at Estadio Padre Ernesto Martearena. Herrera returns from a right thigh injury after training fully and is expected to get minutes to rebuild sharpness.

Cavani, 39, will not travel as the staff manage his workload. He will remain in Buenos Aires for kinesiotherapy and gym work to target the next league date.

Adam Bareiro is included for the first time and could make his official debut. Juan Barinaga misses out with an adductor tear, so youngster Dylan Gorosito is drafted in.
