Good news, overall, for Bournemouth ahead of facing Manchester United on Friday night

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has confirmed Tyler Adams will not return from injury against Manchester United.

Adams suffered a torn a knee ligament injury in the reverse fixture against Man Utd back in December, subsequently missing two months of action.

In his absence, Bournemouth were knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties but lost just twice in nine Premier League matches - one of them at home to Arsenal at the start of January.

Adams returned to action in February, but missed last weekend’s goalless draw with Burnley having “felt something” in training beforehand.

Bournemouth welcome Man United to the Vitality Stadium on Friday night in the Premier League, seeking to dent the Red Devils’ bid to consolidate third in the battle for Champions League qualification.

Hopes of extending their unbeaten run against United have been boosted with Iraola revealing that while Adams remains unavailable, there are no fresh injury concerns.

Bournemouth trio Julio Soler, Lewis Cook and Justin Kluivert remain sidelined, but Rayan - fresh off earning a first call-up to the Brazil national team squad - is expected to feature.

"Tyler [Adams] is not going to be available,” the Bournemouth boss told reporters n the pre-match press conference on Thursday.

“Probably both of them will be ready for the next Arsenal away game, but not for this one."

Meanwhile, Alex Scott - who has played every minute during ten-game unbeaten run in the Premier League - has said he is feeling as fit as ever.

“I think it's definitely been my best season on a personal note,” the midfielder revealed. “I feel confident at the minute. I feel as fit as I've ever been and I'm probably playing my best football so in that regard, I'm really happy.

“A number of different positions - in the past, I think, four weeks I've played ten, eight, and six.

“So for me, I'm still learning. I'm still learning off these players and this head coach and what he wants.

“I'm really happy with how my season's gone, and especially in the past few weeks. I feel like I’ve grown in confidence and the season as a whole I’ve felt very confident and like I said, playing my best football.”
