As per La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Salvatore Malfitano, Napoli have made some key negotiations with Matteo Politano and Franck Zambo Anguissa.
The 32-year-old Politano has signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at Gli Azzurri until 2028. Such is the Italian’s importance in Naples, his new deal will continue his involvement until he’s 35.
The club signing off on this extension arrives as ‘significant recognition’ for the 16-time international. As Malfitano explains, the winger capable in both offensive and defensive scenarios was an indispensable cog in Spalletti’s set-up, and has continued to confirm his status with solid regular outings under Antonio Conte.
While Politano’s deal caps a solid few months that have seen him help win Napoli’s fourth Scudetto, as well as marry his girlfriend of two years, the Serie A holders are looking to continue another important partnership.
The management team have reportedly almost finalised a contract extension for Frank Zambo Anguissa. Last July, Napoli exercised the option to extend his contract until 2027, and now they want to add an additional year.
That initial deal last summer was effective on two fronts. It reaffirmed the midfielder’s importance, while also protecting him against a possible offer from Saudi Arabia. Now, the club aim to extend the contract until 2028, with a unilateral option for another year. At the same time, a salary increase is also expected, which is expected to be around €4 million.
