According to Glorioso 1904, 20-year-old midfielder André Gomes has left Benfica’s under-23s to join Trofense in Liga 3 for the 2026/27 season.

Gomes arrived at Benfica in 2020 from Porto and built a consistent pathway through the academy and development sides, standing out in the Liga Revelação.

Last season he made 24 appearances in that competition, scoring four goals and supplying two assists for Benfica’s under-23s.

He had also caught the eye in earlier age groups and featured for Benfica B on several occasions. Gomes has 10 youth caps for Portugal.

Primarily a defensive or central midfielder, he now steps into Trofense’s set-up seeking senior experience and further progression in 2026/27.
