Medina joins from Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid and turned out for them three times in the 2025/26 season against United in the Champions League. United won all three games.

She has put pen to paper on a deal running until 2029, with the option of an additional 12 months.

The defender’s squad number has been confirmed, with the Spaniard set to sport the no.6 shirt. This number has just become available following the departure of Hannah Blundell.

Medina spoke to club media and revealed that she spoke to Atletico teammate Boe Risa, who helped convince her that United was the right move.

Boa Risa spent two seasons at United before joining Atletico in September 2023.

Boa Risa’s influence

Medina detailed, “I get along very well with her.”

“She spoke very well to me about the club. She helped me choose well, that I had to come here, she helped me, so the truth is I’m very happy.”

The 22-year-old explained that United left an impression on her when they clashed during the season.

“In the Champions League, all the teams you face are incredible, and when I faced Manchester United, well, it seemed incredible to me—all the players.”

She added, “The truth is that it’s a very good team, very important, and I’m happy to be here.”

Medina described herself as “very aggressive, fast, forceful.” She added, “I fight for everything, I fight for every ball.”

She will get the chance to meet her new teammates later this month when the players return to begin their preparations for the 2026/27 season.
