On the afternoon of Thursday (11), Palmeiras presented its 12th signing for the 2025 season. The club finally made the official presentation of Andreas Pereira, who was coveted by Verdão at the end of 2024, in a long saga that initially ended without a happy ending.

ATTEMPT IN JANUARY

– We really did have talks in January. I was in the middle of the season at Fulham and it was difficult to negotiate with the club at that time. I believe a lot in God and I feel the right time was now. But those negotiations already showed all the affection Palmeiras had for me, how much they wanted me. And, arriving here, I realized it was true. That was very important to me. – he said.

FAVORITE POSITION

– I'll leave that headache to the coach (laughs). Everyone knows my characteristics, they've already seen me play at Fulham and for the Brazilian National Team. I'll play wherever I'm needed.

REASON FOR THE CHOICE

A club the size of Palmeiras, with this structure and everything it can offer a player… Here we have the conditions to compete for and try to win every title. Besides that, it’s a great showcase for the Brazilian National Team. It was a project that really interested me. It wasn’t a hard choice.

What happened is in the past. I’m arriving now at this great club to write my story and achieve a lot of success from here on out. I want to stay here for a long time and be a winner.

BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE NEGOTIATION

– It was interesting, because in January there had already been contact, but unfortunately it didn’t work out. I managed to finish the season at Fulham without thinking about leaving. At the end of the season, I went to the National Team, talked to my family, and honestly, I wasn’t thinking about returning to Brazil. When Palmeiras reached out again, we were very happy. There was a great effort from the president, from Barros, and that made everything happen quickly. I started to feel like coming back to Brazil, especially to a place where I know I’m really wanted. – he commented.
