Andreas Schjelderup uncertain for World Cup as entry decision awaited | OneFootball

With only months to go until the World Cup, Benfica’s Andreas Schjelderup says his participation is uncertain while he awaits a ruling on an application to North American authorities to confirm if he can enter the country.

"An application has been submitted," said Schjelderup. "Beyond that I do not know," he told TV2.

"I hope it all goes well, and those are the signs I have been getting. But I do not know anything more. There is nothing I can do about it," he added.

In the same interview, he said his place could be in doubt due to his conviction for sharing sexual content with minors during his time in Denmark, which he called one of the darkest moments of his life.

This season for Benfica, the No 21 has played 36 competitive matches, 21 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga, across 2,014 minutes with seven goals and four assists.
