Andrew could make his Flamengo debut against Fluminense in the Carioca, with coach Filipe Luís planning early-season rotation after pre-season. According to Coluna Do Fla, that increases the chances of the new goalkeeper featuring.

With Rossi having played all 90 minutes against Vasco, Filipe Luís could rest the experienced keeper ahead of Wednesday 28's Brasileirão opener against São Paulo. Andrew would then be the direct replacement.

Flamengo offered €1.5 million, around R$ 9.4 million, plus 10 percent of a future sale to secure Andrew's immediate release. The Portuguese club accepted, allowing the goalkeeper to sign.

Andrew will wear No 42 as a tribute to his father, who died aged 42. He has consistently asked to use that number in his career.

With Andrew available, Flamengo face Fluminense at 18:00 Brasília time on Sunday 25 at the Maracanã, in the fourth round of the Campeonato Carioca.
