Liverpool are determined to reach an agreement with PSG for the player, but deem their current €170m valuation as unrealistic.

PSG have set their price tag, which would represent a British transfer record, based on the recent transfers of Elliot Anderson (£116m) and Morgan Rogers (£117m) in thePremier League.

The Reds hope that Barcola's desire to move to Anfield, and 2028-expiring contract, can aid negotiations. Barcola has indicated that he does not want to sign a new deal in Paris.

The Athletic are reporting that Luis Enrique has made clear he only wants committed players at the Parc des Princes, in another development that could support Liverpool's pursuit.

Barcola has reportedly reached an agreement with Liverpool on personal terms with the transfer fee remaining the sticking point currently preventing a move to England.

Liverpool have turned to Barcola after being frustrated in their move for Yan Diomande. The club had an offer of around £85m rejected for the RB Leipzig winger earlier this summer, withDiomande now nearing a transfer to Real Madrid.
