Ange Postecoglou believes that this season could be among the most memorable in Tottenham’s history should he win the Europa League.
The Australian has endured a long season in charge of Spurs, dealing with myriad injuries which have left his side mired in 16th in the Premier League. But there is still hope for Ange’s promised second-season silverware, as Spurs prepare for the Europa League semi-final against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt.
Tottenham are without a trophy since winning the Carling Cup in 2008, 17 years ago. They have also never won a European trophy, making the Europa League all the more appealing.

Should they get the better of Bodo/Glimt, either Premier League rivals Manchester United or Athletic Bilbao will await in the final, but to get to that stage, they will have to survive a trip to northern Norway, playing on an artificial pitch without captain Son Heung-Min.
Speaking to TNT Sports ahead of the tie, Postecoglou said that he understood winning a trophy would not make up for all of this season’s shortcomings.
He said: “I think people will cherish [a trophy], not for me personally but for what it does for the club.
“Our troubles this year will still be what we have to fix, but this could still go down as one of the most special years in the club’s history and I’d love to be a part of it.”
Rumours have circulated as to Postecoglou’s future at the club, with some hinting that he may be shown the exit door regardless of the outcome of the Europa League campaign.
