Angel Gomes future uncertain as Wolves face decision before possible exit | OneFootball

Angel Gomes could leave Wolves this summer, with his future to be assessed after the season finale against Burnley.

“I haven’t spoken to Marseille and everything that goes on behind the scenes has been left with my agent and the clubs really. I haven’t spoken personally to anyone at either club really. In these circumstances, the best thing I can do is leave it to my advisors.” He was speaking to The Athletic.

The midfielder joined on loan from Marseille in the winter window and Wolves hold a £six million option to buy this summer. It has long been anticipated he would not stay at Wolves in the Championship.

Head coach Rob Edwards said Gomes is keen to play at the highest level and that the club will see what happens. He added there is one more game to go, with Gomes in the mix, before they see what follows.

“Only time will tell, but my advisors and my agents will look after me. But coming back to England has never been the be-all and end-all for me in my career or in my life. If there are opportunities to play for a team in England then it’s not something that I would turn down, but I’m open to playing anywhere.”
