Angers are braced for serious interest in Sidiki Chérif in January. According to L'ÉEquipe, the club would not rule out a sale if a satisfactory offer arrives.

Chérif has played 16 matches for four goals in Ligue 1 this season, the latest in the 4-1 against Nantes last Friday. He is under contract until 2028.

Head coach Alexandre Dujeux said on Saturday that whether the club could refuse an offer close to its budget is a big question. He noted fears over departures, adding that they rely heavily on player sales and will see what happens.

Villarreal, English and Italian clubs are interested. Any move would depend on a satisfactory bid, and Angers are known to be demanding. Should he leave, a replacement striker would be sought.

Attention will also turn to Himad Abdelli, 26, who has been excellent recently. The Algerian is out of contract in June and Angers do not plan to let him go. He has been called up to cover Houssem Aouar’s withdrawal from the Africa Cup of Nations and wants to give himself every chance of playing at the World Cup.

Transfer brief, one striker targeted. Finances rated one star out of five, must sell to buy. Possible departures are Chérif and Abdelli, possible arrivals none listed.
