Anna Gasper leaves Benfica for Chicago Stars after agreement confirmed | OneFootball

Benfica said in a statement that it had agreed a deal with the Chicago Stars for midfielder Anna Gasper, 29.

The NWSL side had shown strong interest since the previous transfer window in January.

Gasper had one year left on her contract. Her departure is now complete after finishing the season. Since joining in January 2023, she registered 31 goals and 10 assists in 124 appearances.

She departs with 10 trophies. She said the opportunity had to be taken, yet leaving Benfica was very hard because she loves the club.

Last season she played 32 matches, 17 in the Liga Feminina, six in the UEFA Women's Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal, four in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça.

Across 2,476 minutes, she scored five goals and made 10 assists. She received thanks for her professionalism and commitment, along with best wishes as she pursues her dream of playing in the professional North American league.
