According to Superdeporte, Lizancos is close to joining Osasuna, deepening Valencia CF’s troubled search for a right-back.
Valencia CF’s summer has unravelled on that flank. Meunier pulled out, and an Andrés García deal that could have been wrapped up weeks ago went to Getafe, while demands from even Segunda clubs have exposed Valencia’s minimal spending power. Options such as Chirino and Lizancos were considered, though the latter was never among the top choices this window.
Lizancos could have arrived in summer 2025 for less than half a million euros. Then at Lugo, he was among Primera Federación’s best right-backs and courted by many Segunda sides, with Valencia CF close to an agreement.
Valencia CF’s proposal involved starting with the B team while training with the first team, Foulquier and Thierry stayed put, and the club never led with cash. Lugo sold him to Burgos, who are now rubbing their hands. A year on, Osasuna have moved to secure him for their first team, with Rosier injured and concerns over his recovery.
Ramis has been a key influence. The Osasuna coach, a key figure in Burgos’ strong season that came close to the promotion play-offs, wants the right side reinforced, with Álex Lizancos among the first names tabled.
He is highly rated and turns 23 in a few months. There is satisfaction at El Sadar with a possible arrival. Valencia CF, meanwhile, face the opener in two and a half weeks with Thierry at Venezia, Foulquier out, and Rubo Iranzo also struggling for fitness.
