Palmeiras and Fluminense have been warned by Anresf for submitting their 2025 financial statements without an independent auditor’s signature.
According to Globo.com, Palmeiras has already corrected the error, filing a revised version before the hearing on the 29th.
Palmeiras stated it had met all legal and regulatory disclosure requirements, with the independent audit opinion published in full on its website, identifying the responsible auditor and firm with their registrations. The club also updated its site to provide individually the signed external audit opinions for 2025 and the previous five financial years, citing a commitment to governance and transparency.
Fluminense did not initially present a defence. Anresf granted a 15-day deadline to remedy the issue or face an automatic R$ 40,000 fine. The club later regularised the matter, lodging the final document with the external auditor’s signature on 29 May within the rules, and publishing it on its Transparency Portal.
Avaí, of Série B, faces a similar case after failing to submit the independent audit report, and now has 30 days to comply or risk a R$ 20,000 fine. Remo, also warned, has already corrected its filing.
Financial fair play rules, in force since January, require Série A and Série B clubs to file audited financial statements with Anresf, with this year’s deadline postponed twice at the teams’ request.
