Atlético Madrid star Antoine Griezmann on Tuesday continued to etch his name ever further into the history books of the capital club.

This came by way of the Frenchman’s efforts in Atléti’s latest outing.

Diego Simeone’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt to the Metropolitano for a Champions League clash.

When all was said and done, the Rojiblancos made short work of their opponents, to the tune of a 5-1 romp.

The aforementioned Griezmann, meanwhile, featured from the off in the matchup.

And fresh off bringing an end to his alarming goalscoring drought against Real Madrid over the weekend, the experienced frontman made it two in two on Tuesday.

Slotting home from close range after being teed up by Julián Alvarez, Griezmann put Atlético three goals to the good on the stroke of the interval.

And as alluded to above, in the process, the 34-year-old hit a historic benchmark.

As per statisticians Opta:

‘Antoine Griezmann has scored his 200th goal for Atlético Madrid in all competitions (454 matches), at least 28 more than any other player in the club’s history.’
