Antoine Griezmann strikes as Atlético punish Barcelona in Copa del Rey semi-final first leg

Antoine Griezmann doubled Atlético de Madrid’s lead with a low left-foot finish as Barcelona collapsed to 4-0 down by half-time in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg.

Already in serious trouble after conceding in the sixth minute following a Joan Garcia error, Barcelona were punished again in the 14th minute. Griezmann, picked out by Nahuel Molina, opened his left foot to steer a low cross-shot beyond the goalkeeper.

Before the break, Atlético stretched clear. Ademola Lookman, a winter signing from Atalanta, struck their third, then Julian Alvarez added a fourth.

It left Barcelona facing a daunting second half.
