Anton Stach has offered a 'back soon' message after injuring his ankle in Leeds United’s FA Cup quarter-final win at West Ham, with Manchester United to come on Monday, according to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk.

The midfielder rolled his right ankle late in the first half after a heavy challenge by Max Kilman, moments after Alphonse Areola denied him. Referee Craig Pawson rejected penalty appeals and VAR called it a "natural coming together".

Stach received treatment, briefly returned, then was replaced by Brenden Aaronson. He later posted a photo of his swollen ankle captioned 'stop acting', before telling fans he hopes to be back soon and eyes Wembley.

Leeds led 1-0 at the time, Ao Tanaka having scored after fine footwork. Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s penalty made it 2-0 before West Ham struck twice in added time, and the Whites won the shootout 4-2 with Lucas Perri saving from Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Felipe.

Further assessment is due this week and Stach is a serious doubt for Old Trafford, with Daniel Farke expecting a ligament issue and arguing a penalty should have been given. He described the loss as a setback after the German had been running the game.

Joe Rodon also rolled an ankle and made way for Sebastiaan Bornauw, with his fitness to be checked. Noah Okafor went off late but, after a recent hamstring lay-off, the initial view was cramp rather than anything more serious.
